In the solitude of a hermitage, a sensorial and existential journey is guided by the words of women who have dedicated their lives to various forms of spirituality.

synopsis

At the beginning of winter, a filmmaker begins a six-month retreat in a hermit’s hut in the middle of a forest, cut off from the world and its means of communication. Thanks to the words of four women she has filmed previously, and who have all dedicated their lives to various forms of spirituality, she embarks on a mysterious inner adventure, to the frontiers of solitude and nature. A journey that invites us to connect ourselves to the world in another way.
Au début de l'hiver, une cinéaste se retire pour six mois dans une cabane d'ermite en pleine forêt, coupée du monde et de ses moyens de communication. Grâce aux paroles de quatre femmes qu’elle a filmées précédemment, et qui ont toutes consacré leurs vies à différentes formes de spiritualité, elle s’engage dans une mystérieuse aventure intérieure, aux confins de la solitude et de la nature. Un voyage qui nous invite à nous relier au monde d'une autre manière.
In een kluizenaarshut waar ze zich enkele maanden terugtrekt, herbekijkt regisseur Cécile Mavet, in een zoektocht naar betekenis, eerder gefilmde getuigenissen van vier vrouwen die hun leven hebben gewijd aan een spirituele weg. De woorden van Nathalie Delay, Annick de Souzenelle, Nur Artiran en Shefa Gold inspireren de filmmaker om via een introspectiereis de confrontatie met zichzelf aan te gaan. Met de camera in de hand filmt ze de haar omgevende natuur en schrijft ze haar gedachten neer in een dagboek. Ter plekke ontmoet ze zuster Elie, een kluizenares die in het bos woont.
