synopsis

Performer, choreographer and director Wim Vandekeybus is a man of many families. He grew up surrounded by brothers and sisters, founded a creative family in dance company Ultima Vez, and now has grown-up children of his own. Drawing on performances, rehearsals, interviews and family archives, Lut Vandekeybus explores her brother's restless creativity and the way these family circles interconnect, inspire and sometimes clash with his work. WIM is poetic yet perceptive, intimate but never indulgent.
Le danseur, chorégraphe et metteur en scène Wim Vandekeybus a grandi dans une grande famille, avant de fonder sa propre famille créative : la compagnie de danse Ultima Vez. Il est père de deux fils. Dans Wim, Lut Vandekeybus explore la créativité fébrile de son frère et la manière dont les différentes familles de sa vie se rencontrent, s’inspirent et se confrontent. À partir de matériel issu de représentations, de répétitions, d’entretiens et des riches archives familiales, elle dresse un portrait intime de Wim. Un regard poétique et subtil sur une vie rythmée par la pulsion créative.
